Megan Hess is a Melbourne-based illustrator inspired by fashion and old-world glamour. Hess has illustrated for some of the world’s top fashion designers, publications, department stores and best selling books.
Although Brisbane-born Hess' love of illustration blossomed at a young age, she never thought of it as a possible career. She instead began her creative career studying Graphic Design at Griffith University, feeling as if it was the closest thing to a ‘real job’ in the art world. Upon graduation from university, Hess landed her first job with Mojo in Brisbane, one of Australia’s high-profile advertising companies. After working as an art director in various advertising agencies for several years, Hess packed everything up and moved to London where she worked in a variety of creative jobs. It was in Hess' final job in London, working as the art director for Liberty department store, that made her realise she had a burning desire to become an artist. From that time, Hess has established herself as one of the worlds most sought after fashion illustrators, with a client list that includes Vanity Fair, TIME, Vogue, Chanel, Tiffany & Co. Fendi, Dior, Guerlain, Rolex, Bvlgari, HBO, Bloomingdales, Henri Bendel, Candace Bushnell and Disney.
