United Measures is a bespoke framing service which operates directly out of the Compound Interest and provides all custom framing for Lamington Drive.
All UM frames are handcrafted from raw Australian timber (Tasmanian Oak), never using off the shelf or pre-finished materials!
Employing arhival/conservation mounting methods, all United Measures frames use acid free, museum grade 100% cotton rag matt boards & water reversible Japanese paper hinging tapes, to retain the value and integrity of the work being framed*
For works ordered online through lamingtondrive.com, three finishes are available, either floated or window-mounted. Please note your selection upon checkout.
1) Black Stain (Sanded, stained, lacquered and waxed) 2) Natural (Sanded, lacquered & waxed( 3) White (Sanded & sprayed using 100% water-based acrylic enamel in a white satin finish)
*Except for some works that require dry mounting. Dry mounting is permanent & not archival, though when mounted to museum board, many conservators consider this an exception to the rule. OK for prints, not recommended for originals.
